SABA HOMES, A HOME FOR ORPHAN GIRLS, NOT AN ORPHANAGE
|
 |
|
The journey to this stage of completion of Saba homes has been long and difficult, but
our beloved Prophet (SAW) talked highly of the importance of taking care of Orphans
and this inspires me every time I feel like I can’t go any further.
|
- A world-class home that will raise the children to be highly responsible and
productive members of society in an environment of love and support.
- To teach them real Islam, this teaches love, peace, harmony, and mutual respect
for all people regardless of the country or religion. Mutual understanding peace
through tolerance and peace through education.
- To treat the orphans as we would our own children with the best of
accommodation, health, education and recreation
- And a role model for charities involved in child welfare all over the world

 |
A home filled with love and affection like no other, not only in
Pakistan, but to the best of my knowledge, there is nothing of this quality in the world.
We are unique, we are different and we have changed the whole concept of
orphanages.
The plight and misery of down and out children has always touched
my wife Bushra’s heart. Time and again she expressed her desire to
adopt some of the orphans. She had been long talking about the idea
of raising even a small group of parentless girls with the same level of
love, care and opportunity, as if they were our own children. In 2004,
during a meeting with a close friend, Mr Akram Chaudhry, who
jumped with joy and said that’s what I have been wanting to do. Thus
he supported the idea wholeheartedly. Then came Oct 2005 – a
devastating earth quake that rocked and tumbled the North of
Pakistan and Kashmir. The defining moment had come; thus the
Saba Trust said “Labaik” (I am here) and embarked upon massive
relief efforts in the affected areas.

We are not providing ROTI-KAPRA only
|
|
|
|
|
|
We have built an institution that all of us, as a matter of fact, Pakistan and the entire
world can be proud of, as there is nothing like this. Saba girls learn love and respect,
every human being regardless of their religion, country or creed.

SABA HOMES (Reason to choose the name)
|
I have been asked many times & again if Saba is a name of my wife or one
of my daughters. The answer is…. No!
Then where did the Saba come from and why?
I had invited scholars, educationist, business people, some
Army generals and others.
There were about 44 of us and I requested them to suggest a
name and there were almost 45 suggestions.
The person who suggested Saba, he spoke very loud and clear
this means FRESH BREEZE (TAZEE HAWA) that really appealed
me thus name was selected

- Saba Home is a subsidiary of Saba Aslam Education and Welfare
Trust (Registered); a voluntary, non-profit, non-political and nonsectarian
charity organization. The concept of Saba Home is based
on “If you give a person a fish you feed him for a day - if you
teach him how to catch fish you feed him for a life time.”
- Saba Home plans to adopt parentless/ needy girls between 4 to 9
years of age. Saba Girls (adopted by Saba Homes) will be
provided with home like environments, health facilities and quality
education.

THE BEGINNING
|
|
Mr. Saghir Aslam, Mrs. Bushra Aslam and Mr Akram Chaudhry set
about the idea of Saba Homes, selected the site, and consulted the
architects to design a building conforming to the requirements to
accommodate 60 girls with their requisite staff. The ground breaking
of Saba Homes took place in Jun 2006.
