The struggle against illiteracy
and ignorance requires patience and dedication. Saba Aslam Education and
Welfare Trust believes education is a right and an obligation for all, and endeavors
to provide opportunities for basic education to many Pakistani children who either
can’t afford tuition fees or supplies. Saba Trust works with other national organizations
to help transform Pakistani society through education.

Saba Aslam Education and Welfare Trust
provides resources for the purchase and distribution of books, notebooks and other
school supplies for children in need. In Pakistan, parents must absorb the cost
of books and other materials, and many are unable to afford these items, leaving
their children without the tools necessary to succeed. The cost of books for one
year is just $10.00/child or less!

Success Story: In
the village of Murree Tehsil, Saba Aslam Trust provided 115 young students with
school books that enabled them to begin their education journey. Furthermore, Saba
Aslam Trust has provided for these childrens’ enrollment fees for five years, so
as to ensure that they will have received their primary education at the very least.
The books were distributed at the Murree Arts Council Hall, and the commissioner
of Rawalpindi Shahid Khan and other notables, along with teachers and parents, attended
and expressed their appreciation for Saba Aslam Trust’s work in education. Seeing
that an organization such as Saba Aslam Trust had come from a great distance to
help these children, Khurshid Abbasi, a local landlord and social worker promised
to provide additional support for educating the children in the area. In addition,
Rawalpinidi officials were inspired to commit funds for books/copies for another
300 students. Thus, a sound foundation for the education of hundreds of children
in the area was laid by Saba Aslam Trust’s initial support for 115 students.
