SABA HOMES – SOP
HOW TO SELECT SABA GIRLS
  • Girls between 4 to 15 years of age are adopted. 
  • While adopting a girl, preference is given to earthquake area girls. 
  • Thorough medical check up by a recognized hospital is conducted. Any child with hereditary or contagious disease is regretted. 
  • Production of birth certificate of the child is mandatory. 
  • In case of parentless girls, production of parent(s) death certificate(s) is considered mandatory. 
  • Birth certificates of siblings are also obligatory for verification. 
  • Verification of the character/background of the candidate’s relative/s by police authorities, who can be contacted if need to be, or who wants to keep a link, verified by police authorities. 
  • Final selection of Saba Girls is done by the Selection Committee. 
  • The guardians must sign on stamp paper that no pre-arranged marriages will be accepted. Marriage will be planned by girls themselves with the guidance of Mama & Papa, administrator & the staff
HOW TO MONITOR HER ACTIVITIES/ PROGRESS
Activity & evaluation chart system is formulated on daily, weekly and monthly basis prior to commencement of S.H by Saba Mentors.
HOLIDAYS SCHEDULE
  • Emergency leaves are allowed on the approval of S.H working committee . 
  • Visitors coming on any day or any time other then those mentioned above will not be allowed to meet their girls. 
  • 3 Eid holidays on Eid –ul- Fitar. 
  • No vacation on Eid-ul-Edha. 
  • 1 Week summer vacations in month of July.
RULES FOR MEETING HOURS
  • Guardians are allowed to meet their girls on weekend of every month 
  • Guardians can take their girls after 4: 00 pm on Saturday, and have to leave back before 7: 00 pm on Sunday 
  • Guardians are bound to follow the meeting schedule issued by Chairman of SABA HOME (Orphanage).
VISITORS (RELATIVES)
  • The relative authorized at the time of adoption will only be allowed to visit. 
  • Frequent visits by the relative will not be entertained. 
  • On festivals, to celebrate, the relative may join Saba Girls at Saba Homes. 
  • Relatives, besides the authorized one, will only be allowed if Saba Home working committee approves
VACATIONS
  • No conventional summer/ winter vacations will be observed instead activities and field trips will be planned and organized. 
  • In exceptional cases Saba Homes, working committee may send a child with authorized relative on a limited vacation. 
  • Members of the board of trustees, Board of Advisers may invite a group of Saba Girls to spend few days with their families.
UPKEEP OF SABA HOME
  • Maids shall be responsible for the cleaning of rooms, wash rooms and courtyard.
  • A committee of ladies will be deputed by a panel appointed by working committee.
SECURITY
  • Integral security guards fully armed are hired. 
  • Guards will be responsible to keep an eye on each entry and exit of personnel & material. 
  • Security cameras are installed at key points for surveillance. 
  • Records of each entry and exit are maintained. 
  • Security passes will be issued to all personnel associated with S.H 
  • Cell phones & cameras will not be allowed at the premises except authorized by Grand Parents. For Sponsor – Donors, special visitors, administrator will use her judgment. 
  • Adequate fire fighting appliances installed. The staff will be imparted with requisite fire fighting training.
KITCHEN
  • A balanced diet in consultation with a dietician will be planned. 
  • An exemplary hygiene and sanitation standard will be ensured. 
  • Generally, kitchen purchases will be arranged by male staff.
SELECTION OF SCHOOL
  • A Survey was conducted by the advisory board: Team visited almost the entire major well known, well respected for their: 
  • Standards of education 
  • Their way of operation 
  • Annual results 
  • Staff 
  • Other facilities, etc
