Help In Agriculture
Agriculture is a vital component of any national, regional or local economy. Farmers in developing countries often face tremendous challenges due to lack of modern equipment, limited acreage, scarce resources and periodic natural disasters from which protection is lacking. Saba Trust seeks to help modernize the materials, tools and methods available to farmers, thereby improving their livelihoods as well as increasing the quality and diversity of the food supply for the population at large.
Success Story: Br. Nadeem and Br. Faiz took it upon themselves to help a hard-working farming family. They loaned them Rs 100,000 to modernize their farming methods. The family decided to grow certain crops as part of their new approach, and upon harvesting they found their income doubled. Within a year they paid off their loan and bought new farming equipment. The family members are now considered extremely successful farmers in that village.
Honey Bee Farm
Saba Trust has assisted a number of honey cultivators to establish successful businesses. Honey bee farms require special attention, dedication, and suitable equipment. Bee hives are maintained in special crates that each contain 10 honey combs that give 1.5 kg. of honey every few days. The honey bee farmers maintain numerous hives and sell the honey as a valuable sweetener.
